Renbrook Summer Adventure
Welcome to RSSA!
Renbrook School Summer Adventure is a day camp open to children age 3 through Grade 10. We offer a robust Counselor in Training Program for eleventh and twelfth-grade students.
Our staff demonstrates maturity, personal integrity, and sensitivity to the needs of your children. We maintain a low camper to staff ratio to ensure the best possible experience. We have carefully developed our programs for each age group that envelops your child's growth and needs at different stages of their development.
Warm-up for Summer in our Pre-Season Camp on our beautiful campus with access to all of the summer adventure facilities. We offer two weeks of fun for three-year-olds through grade ten before the start of the official camp season.

Follow Renbrook Summer Adventure
Throughout the school year, first-grade students studied communities. Lessons and activities were guided by the essential questions: What is a community? What are the different types of communities? What do all communities need? How are decisions made in a community? Why do people work? How do we get what we need or want? What makes a good citizen? Why do we need rules? How can citizens work together to solve problems and to keep a community safe? All year, their study of communities has been tied back to the fact that they are members of a community of learners in their class, their lower school division, the entire Renbrook School, and the towns they live in. First-grade students learned about the various jobs and careers of community helpers and brought their learning to life as they participated in hands-on simulations of those jobs and "worked" in Mt. Renbrook, a town created and named by them.

Boys LAX has returned to Renbrook! The team came out strong and battled back the opposing team`s rally to secure a win for the season`s first game. It was an exciting afternoon made even sweeter by the large number of fans there to cheer the boys on. Go Hawks!

Please join us for our Spring Secondary School Fair on Thursday, May 2. The doors will open for Renbrook families at 6:00 p.m. and for the public at 6:30 p.m. We expect close to 80 of the best secondary schools in the country to be in attendance. This is a great opportunity to explore private high schools, both day and boarding, in Connecticut, New England, and beyond.
The event is free and open to the public, so please share with neighbors and friends.

Students in eighth-grade Chemistry class have started studying DNA and Protein Synthesis. They have learned that the shape of DNA is a double helix, a twisted ladder, and they have identified the base pairs that match each other (A & T, C & G) and learned how to create complementary DNA strands. They then put this information together to create edible DNA! They used Twizzlers as the phosphate backbone and Sour Patch Kids as the base pairs. Sweet!đ§Ź

Bejan Shirvani `91 stopped by campus for a quick visit with his family and caught up with his former classmate Lincoln Vaughn â91 and former teacher Howard Wright, who are both current science teachers at Renbrook. Bejan marveled at the beautiful quad and shared stories about getting to P.E. from buildings that werenât connected (he had to walk outside!) with his family and Allie Young, Director of Development Operations and Individual Giving. The New England Air Museum never disappoints! Students went on a guided tour of the museum to learn about the features of various airplanes. Then, students participated in a STEM hands-on activity, learning about the forces involved with flight while making their own gliders. Lastly, students had the chance to explore the other areas of the museum, which included sitting in the cockpit of various planes, playing with flight simulators, and watching a short film about women in flight. It was a fun, adventurous day, a perfect precursor to Renbrook`s Flight Day!âïž

Renbrook was excited to welcome Darlene Kascak, educational outreach ambassador, full-time educator, and Traditional Native American storyteller from The Institute for American Indian Studies (IAIS) to campus last week. Ms. Kascak is a member of the Schaghticoke (pronounced `scatty coke`) Womenâs Traditional Council, a group of Indigenous women whose purpose is to preserve, protect, and pass down their history, stories, traditions, and culture to future generations.
Her program, âAs We Tell Our Stories,â explored how we learn about Indigenous cultures. Examples of archaeology and European documents were viewed, acknowledging their limitations. Indigenous history recording methods like oral traditions, art, songs, and dance were discussed. Students, faculty, and staff were able to broaden their understanding of Indigenous culture through a comparison of European perspectives and Indigenous art. Thank you, Ms. Kascak, for sharing your knowledge and personal experiences with our community!
