Sue Kuzia

Grade 2

Manchester Community College - A.S.

Sue Kuzia is a dedicated Second Grade Teacher in Renbrook’s Lower School and has proudly been part of the Renbrook community for eight years. She holds an A.A. in Child Study and Development from Manchester Community College and a B.S. in Psychological Science from Central Connecticut State University. Her professional development includes training in Handwriting Without Tears, Singapore Math, Orton-Gillingham and the Science of Reading, and Fundations.

With more than 30 years of experience working with young children in preschool, kindergarten, and elementary classrooms, Sue brings both deep expertise and heartfelt passion to her work. As a homeroom teacher, she leads instruction in math, reading, writing, and social studies, always with a focus on teaching the whole child. She believes that each student deserves to feel seen, heard, and valued, and that strong relationships are the foundation for meaningful learning.

In Sue’s classroom, academic growth is intertwined with social and emotional development. She intentionally teaches soft skills and life skills, helping students build independence, empathy, resilience, and confidence. By creating a safe and supportive environment, she empowers children to take intellectual risks, solve problems thoughtfully, and contribute positively to their classroom community.

Sue treasures the connection and shared commitment to children that define Renbrook. Outside of school, she enjoys reading, traveling, cooking, and especially baking sourdough bread. She shares her home with her handsome but occasionally ill-tempered Maine Coon cat. A lover of music and strong storytelling, she counts Little Women among her favorite books and can even play “Piano Man” on the harmonica.
