London School of Economics - M.Sc., Yale University - M.E.Sc., Boston University - B.A.
Lincoln Vaughan ’91 is a proud Renbrook alumnus and returned to Renbrook School as a teacher in 2019. He currently serves as Science Department Chair in the Upper School. He teaches Grade 6 Earth Science, Grade 7 Life Science, and Grade 8 Chemistry, guiding students through foundational scientific concepts during a critical stage in their development as thinkers and learners.
Lincoln brings an interdisciplinary academic background to his work. He earned a BA in anthropology and biology from Boston University, a Master of Environmental Science from Yale University, and an MSc in social anthropology from the London School of Economics, where he also pursued doctoral research. This breadth of study shapes his teaching philosophy. He emphasizes the interconnectedness of ideas and encourages students to see science not as isolated facts but as part of a broader intellectual and cultural framework.
He works to help students understand how scientific discoveries have transformed our understanding of life on Earth and the nature of the universe, while also supporting them as they discover and pursue their own interests in science. By encouraging wide reading and cross-cultural perspectives, he fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and global awareness.
Beyond the classroom, Lincoln coaches cross country and lacrosse and serves as a Grade 7 advisor. He previously served as a Grade 7 level coordinator and faculty representative on the Board of Trustees. Outside of school, he enjoys playing guitar, running, writing, conducting historical research, and traveling internationally.
