Erin O’Rielly

New York University in France - M.A., University of Connecticut - B.A.

Erin O’Rielly joined Renbrook in 2025 as a Fourth Grade Teacher, bringing with her a rich background in both international and independent school education. She holds a BA in French and International Relations from the University of Connecticut and an MA in French Language from New York University, with a focus on Teaching French as a Foreign Language. She is fluent in French and has lived in four states and three countries.

Erin’s career reflects her love of language, culture, and global learning. She has taught French at Greenwich High School and Punahou School in Honolulu and has served as a classroom teacher in a variety of settings, including Silicon Valley International School in California, the International School of Dakar in Senegal, Brentwood School in Los Angeles, and Waterside School in Stamford.

Erin believes teaching is a meaningful way to make positive change in the world. She hopes to ignite a love of learning in her students by sharing her own enthusiasm and curiosity. In her classroom, she fosters a safe space where students are encouraged to take academic risks, develop empathy, and become confident agents of their own learning. She regularly incorporates social-emotional learning into daily routines and invites students to share about their cultures, families, and experiences so that every child feels seen and valued as a whole person.

Outside of school, Erin enjoys reading, baking, and crafting. She is the proud mother of one daughter who will attend preschool at Renbrook, and she shares her home with her 13-year-old Maltese Poodle. One of her favorite guiding quotes is, “When given the choice between being right and being kind, choose kind.”
