University of Vermont - B.S., Chestnut Hill College - M.Ed.
Elissa grew up in Canton, CT and attended the University of Vermont where she earned a BS in elementary education. She also earned a MA in education with a reading focus from Chestnut Hill College. Elissa chose education because she loves the spark of curiosity in young learners. She believes strongly in seeing and hearing every child and supporting them as they build confidence and embrace challenges. She teaches her students about the concept of “failing forward” and the value of growth opportunities.
Elissa has been teaching since 2011 and has taught second, third, fourth, and fifth grade. When not in the classroom, Elissa enjoys hiking, traveling, and spending time playing on the beach with her children, Nora and Ryder, and husband, Tucker.
