Betsy Minton joined Renbrook in 2025 as the Kindergarten STEM Teacher and Lower School Math Enrichment Teacher, working with students in grades K through 3. Her role blends hands-on STEM exploration with mathematical enrichment, encouraging students to think critically, take risks, and approach challenges with confidence.

Betsy holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology and Classical and Medieval Studies from Bates College and a Master of Arts in Instructional Design with Technology from Teachers College, Columbia University. She has been certified in early childhood, elementary, and special education and brings nearly two decades of experience as a special educator, kindergarten teacher, and STEM coordinator. Most recently, she has worked as an education and technology consultant through her own company, partnering with schools and organizations to design innovative and engaging learning experiences.

Betsy believes deeply in the power of productive struggle. She loves witnessing the moment when a student perseveres through a difficult problem and finally makes a connection. For her, those moments of clarity and confidence are what make education meaningful.

A lifelong builder and creator, Betsy enjoys sewing, quilting, woodworking, and constructing with Legos. She has traveled all the way around the world and treasures time with her two children, two grandchildren, and two dogs. Her favorite book, Matilda, reflects her belief in curiosity, courage, and the transformative power of learning.
