Yun Lee ’83

Yun Lee ’83 is Managing Director and Associate General Counsel for AIG Investments. Born in South Korea, Yun moved to the United States when she was 8 years old. She attended Renbrook from seventh through ninth grade, then went on to Phillips Academy. Yun earned a BA in Political Science and Philosophy from Brown University and graduated from Harvard Law School, where she served as one of the editors for Harvard Women’s Law Journal (now known as Harvard Journal of Law & Gender) and as a student advocate at the Legal Aide Bureau as well as the Immigration and Refugee Clinic. Following law school, Yun worked at firms in New York, representing clients in complex litigation and regulatory investigations. After ten years in private practice, she joined AIG as Assistant General Counsel for its Litigation Group. In her free time, Yun represents clients pro bono in matters involving immigration, housing, and women’s rights. She has provided legal assistance to refugees seeking reunification with their families and low-income tenants facing eviction. She is a volunteer mediator for Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts and on the Advisory Council of the Coalition Against Trafficking in Women. Yun is the 2023 Renbrook School Distinguished Alumna.

“Renbrook set the standard in terms of what I expect from teachers and from a supportive community. The teachers engaged students in discussions inside and outside the classroom such that the subjects jumped to life for me. Most importantly, I credit Renbrook in challenging me to be a more thoughtful and analytical reader, writer, and thinker.”
