Sofia Schmidt '21

Sofia Schmidt ’21 is a junior at Choate Rosemary Hall. While at Renbrook, she developed a strong interest in political science and social justice, and these continue to be her main areas of academic interest. Sofia is part of the John F. Kennedy ‘35 Program in Government and Public Service, a prestigious, immersion program designed for students with a keen interest in economics, philosophy, and politics. Outside the classroom, she is Executive Officer of Choate’s Young Democrats, a leader in the Gold Key ambassador program, and a member of a-cappella chorus, Hip Hop Club, and Dance Company. In addition, she tutors physics and writing and takes dance classes at The Hartt School.

“Renbrook gave me the skills to grow as a person and a learner. My incredible teachers taught me diligence, perseverance, responsibility, and how to be a leader. Yet, Renbrook is more than a school; it’s a family. I realize now how remarkable it is that I could call everyone in my class a friend. I may never know another group of peers that well or be part of such a strong and enduring community again. Renbrook was an invaluable experience that will guide me throughout my life.”
