Maggie Doyne, Author and Philanthropist Visits Renbrook School

Maggie Doyne speaking at Renbrook School
In 2005, Maggie graduated from high school and traveled to Nepal for a gap year. In Nepal, she met a young girl who, in an effort to support her family, was breaking rocks in a gravel bed for money. Moved by what she saw, Maggie took her college savings and began her life’s work in Nepal to educate and care for children. Maggie has been been recognized by the Dalai Lama as a Hero of Compassion, and in 2015 she won the CNN Hero Award.

We thank Maggie for visiting as she inspires us to live our mission: to educate and inspire students to develop the character, knowledge, and creativity to lead in a global and inclusive world. As Maggie shared with our students, “In the blink of an eye, we can all make a difference.”
