Robin Ellef

Robin Ellef began teaching at Renbrook in 2015 and serves as a Lead Junior Kindergarten (JK) teacher in the Beginning School. In addition to the many student-initiated themes that arise, Robin has championed the study of butterfly metamorphosis as a destination unit in JK. Last year, her class created a large butterfly garden on campus and registered it as an official Weigh Station for monarchs on Renbrook’s campus.

An alumna of Renbrook, Robin has a deep history at the school, having learned the craft while watching her mother, a longtime teacher at Renbrook. A graduate of Sweet Briar College with a major in early childhood education, Robin brings joy and wonder to her classroom each day. Robin’s promise to families is that “her students will learn something every day – some days they will bring it home in their hands, some days they will bring it home in their heads, and some days they will bring it home in their hearts.”
