Robbie Saal

Kindergarten Lead Teacher

Utica College - B.S.

Robbie Saal has been a dedicated member of the Renbrook community since August 2000. As a Kindergarten Lead Teacher in the Beginning School, she guides five and six-year-olds through all core subjects while laying the foundation for a lifelong love of learning.

Robbie holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Child Life from Utica College, now Utica University. Throughout her career, she has pursued professional development through Fundations workshops, Singapore Math training, and Responsive Classroom workshops. Before joining Renbrook, she worked for five years as an assistant teacher at the former CCMC school, now Solterra Academy, and previously taught in several private kindergarten and preschool settings.

She teaches because she loves witnessing the wonder of early childhood. Watching children discover new ideas, build confidence, and grow socially and academically inspires her every day. In her classroom, she emphasizes curiosity, strong foundational skills, kindness, good citizenship, and a close partnership with families. She supports students’ growth beyond academics by nurturing social-emotional development and helping children build positive relationships with peers and adults. Robbie also serves on Renbrook’s Diversity and Belonging Council.

What she loves most about Renbrook is the beautiful physical environment, the supportive community of children, families, and colleagues, and the creative freedom to design meaningful learning experiences.
Outside of school, Robbie enjoys swimming, taking long walks, traveling, and spending time with her husband, four adult daughters, and six grandchildren. One unforgettable moment was getting caught in a lightning storm while walking across the Brooklyn Bridge and making it safely to the other side. Her favorite book is Becoming by Michelle Obama, a reflection of her belief in growth, resilience, and lifelong learning.
