He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Williams College and went on to complete a Master’s degree in Education Leadership at Columbia University Teachers College. His career path reflects both academic and athletic leadership. Early on, he worked as a Project Coordinator for the New York Yankees before returning to education as a baseball coach at Williams College and a football and baseball coach at Bowdoin College.

Matt later served as an Economics and Math teacher, football and baseball coach, and Middle School Dean at Delbarton School. Across each role, he focused on building strong communities, mentoring students and faculty, and aligning mission with meaningful action.
At Renbrook, Matt works with students from Preschool through Grade 8, guiding the school’s vision and partnering closely with faculty, families, and trustees. He believes deeply that a thriving school community is more than the sum of its parts, and he strives to foster an environment where each individual contributes to a shared sense of purpose and belonging.

Outside of school, Matt enjoys time with his four daughters, hiking, reading, exercising, and spending time outdoors. He has also played the trumpet for many years, a reflection of his lifelong love of learning and creative expression.
