Linda Wood

Director of Student Support Services

University of Connecticut - B.A., University of Bridgeport - M.S.

Linda Wood joined Renbrook in 2019 as Director of Student Support Services and brings 36 years of experience in independent schools to her role. She earned her BA from UConn and her MS in Education from the University of Bridgeport and holds specialized training in Orton Gillingham, Wilson Reading, Dibels assessment, and math intervention programs. Her professional journey reflects a deep and enduring commitment to supporting students across a wide range of ages and needs.

Throughout her career, Linda has taught in self-contained classrooms, led English and Humanities courses, coached soccer, skiing, basketball, and fitness, served as an advisor and dorm head, contributed to curriculum development and leadership committees, presented at NENTS, supported admissions and summer programs, and worked as a learning strategist and executive skills coach. Her breadth of experience informs her holistic approach to student support.

At Renbrook, Linda’s work spans Preschool through Grade 8. She serves as Lower School Math Interventionist, supports Beginning School students, works as an Upper School Learning Strategist, consults with admissions, and collaborates on both Academic Life and Student Life teams. She also chaperones Outdoor Education and contributes wherever needed.

Linda believes that the heart of student support lies in “a million little things” each day. It is in the quick check-ins, the encouraging words, the thoughtful guidance, and the steady presence that let students know they are seen, valued, and loved. She is inspired by the potential of her students, the dedication of her colleagues, and the genuine joy that fills Renbrook’s campus.

Outside of school, Linda loves UConn basketball, being outdoors, skiing, paddle tennis, hiking, kayaking, traveling, and exploring new places. She treasures time with her husband, their four children, and their 13-year-old Springer Spaniel. One of nine siblings herself and married to another seventh-born, she brings that same lively spirit of connection and family into her work each day.
