Cicely Gibson

Kindergarten Partner Teacher

Lesley University - M.Ed., Boston University - B.A.

A proud Renbrook alumna, Cicely brings over a decade of experience as an early elementary educator, most recently serving as a first-grade teacher at Belmont Day School in Massachusetts. Known for her joyful and student-centered teaching, Cicely has been a leader in reimagining early childhood science, social studies, and writing curricula to be more hands-on, inclusive, and integrated across disciplines. At Belmont Day, she collaborated with school leaders to design inquiry-based units in science and social studies that align closely with Renbrook’s mission of fostering innovation, creativity, and character.

Cicely’s professional path is a full-circle journey that began at Renbrook, where she was one of the school’s first Lower School interns. Her educational philosophy—grounded in building meaningful relationships, cultivating curiosity, and honoring each child—reflects the very best of what we aim to provide our students at Renbrook. She has also served as a mentor to aspiring teachers and a thoughtful guide to families, reinforcing the kind of close-knit, supportive community that is central to our school. We are thrilled that Cicely’s deep roots at Renbrook, combined with her proven excellence as a compassionate and innovative educator, make her a treasured part of our Beginning School team.Â
