Franklin Perry grew up in Hartford and entered Renbrook as a first grader. He attended Renbrook through ninth grade and is a member of the Class of 1997. After Renbrook, Franklin attended Loomis Chaffee, where he graduated in 2000.
Franklin currently serves as Chief of Staff for the Connecticut House Democrats at the State Legislature, a role he has held since 2021. In this role, he collaborates and negotiates with state officials to champion legislative priorities for the Speaker of the House and the House Democratic caucus. Franklin develops comprehensive policy and legislation in service of the people and sectors of the Nutmeg State. At the direction of the Speaker, Franklin also assists in the negotiation of the state budget.
Franklin began his career as an attorney at Brown Rudnick LLP, where he focused on commercial real estate, before joining the Connecticut House Democrats as the Director of Policy and Legislative Affairs in 2017. Franklin is a graduate of Amherst College, Catholic University School of Social Work, and the University of Connecticut School of Law. He was a collegiate All-American in soccer and continues to enjoy recreational sports and training.
Franklin is a Connecticut Bar Foundation James W. Cooper Fellow. He currently serves as a Renbrook School Corporator and on the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority Board of Directors and the UConn Law School Alumni Association Board. Franklin lives in Hartford and enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants, and going to the movies.
