Last week, sixth-grade students visited the New Britain Museum of American Art in the morning, participating in a docent-led tour and a printmaking workshop. Then they enjoyed lunch outside on the museum park grounds.

As preschoolers learned about the life cycle of an acorn, they read the story Acorn Was a Little Wild. The children loved it so much that they decided to name their classroom acorn “Ike”! Every day, Ike goes on fun adventures around the classroom, and the kids decided to write their own story all about him. We hope you enjoy the excerpts from The Adventures of Ike Was a Little Wild! The children did an amazing job both as authors and illustrators!

Westward, Ho! Grade 3 is bringing the Oregon Trail to life — they built covered wagons and are trekking through the Renbrook Trails to experience the grit and adventure of pioneer life!
Students took on settler personas, cared for their “families,” and faced trail challenges with courage, teamwork, and creativity.
