Eagles Division Grades 7 - 10

Eagles Division
An exciting group of selections have been developed for our oldest campers in grades seven through ten. These selections meet this age group’s desire for adventure, focus, and leadership.

Leadership Development

Eagles programming will include large-group activities designed to cultivate growth in personal development with a goal of leadership development. Campers will participate in a level they are comfortable with, in different games, activities, and puzzles designed to challenge them personally and as a group. These activities will take place twice a week. They will include activities like team-building exercises or an escape room where campers solve a series of puzzles and riddles to find the key to escape.

Personal and leadership development encourages stepping outside of your comfort zone and trying something new. We encourage our Eagles to try a new activity or learn a new skill which will develop their leadership skills in a way they are comfortable. For example, we want Eagles to take the helm and help with our special events. This could include designing, building and running a carnival booth or creating and teaching a game for a free-choice period for a younger group.

Your Choices

List of 7 items.

  • Rocketry

Design your own rocket under the guidance of our staff, then customize it with 3D-printed accessories. Once designed, build the parts necessary for your rocket to reach the heights you aspire. Campers can also concentrate on building advanced rockets using motors unique to our program. Instruction will be given commensurate with each camper’s skill level. By the end of the session, campers will be ready to launch their rockets. Projects are completed and launched on the athletic fields and filmed for each camper to show off to friends and family!
  • Ropes Adventure Course

This program is the perfect introduction to the world of outdoor adventure. Our Ropes Adventure Course is one of the original and largest tree-based, professionally built, ropes courses in Connecticut. Challenges feature a series of logs, ropes, cables, and platforms constructed to create a set of challenging and unique obstacles for groups to puzzle over. The program is designed to develop self-confidence and group identity as well as physical fitness.
  • Senior Arts and Design

Discover, sample, and expand your artistic talent in our Senior Arts and Design program. Campers will explore a variety of processes and materials in the design and fabrication of both planned activities and their own unique projects. Some examples of the artistic medium campers typically explore include sewing (both by hand and machine), beading, paper and fiber crafts, and handbag design. Campers enjoy creating their own unique creations while making new friends and learning new skills.
  • Senior Sports Agility

Senior Sports Agility is the perfect addition to your summer sports plan. Whether you are attending a sport-specific camp week to bolster specific skills or simply preparing for your fall, winter or spring sport, we offer the perfect program to get you ready! Work on agility, balance, and eye/hand/foot coordination skills to prepare you for your chosen sports.
  • Senior Swimming

We are excited to offer an option at our facility for those seniors who truly love swimming and have completed at least Level 5 in the Red Cross Learn to Swim Program. Campers participate in regular morning senior swim class that includes: Basic Water Rescue, Guard Start, or the Water Safety Instructor’s Aide course, depending upon their prior swimming level. Each camper will learn teaching techniques and have an opportunity to assist in classes under the supervision of our swim staff. Campers will also have an individualized program, if they wish to improve their skills for the winter swim season such as racing starts, flip turns, pacing, race strategy, or stroke focus. Courses in First-Aid, CPR, Automated External Defibrillator (AED) will be offered based on interest. This program is ideal for those who wish to become a Counselor in Training (CIT), particularly a future swim staff member.
  • Senior Theater

Be an actor or actress on the big stage at Renbrook School! Senior Theater directors will cast a musical with all of the campers in the program. A dynamic performance will be produced for an audience of parents and campers during this four-week program. All campers are encouraged to sign up - whether you are a seasoned actor or trying it for the first time. This program promises to be an unforgettable experience of team-building, support, and cooperation with friends you will never forget.

**This program necessitates a four-week commitment and is offered sessions 2 & 3 only.
  • Technology, Engineering and Design (Formally Senior Technology)

We have a new name, new projects, and new ideas, but we’ve kept the same great passion-driven approach that brings campers back year after year! This program is perfect for campers of all skill sets and interests who want to get involved in building, making, and designing. In Technology, Engineering, and Design, change your definition of what technology is, and use our extensive collection of high-tech and low-tech tools to work on engineering and design projects, computer-based activities, and so much more. This year, we are expanding to two spaces: our air-conditioned computer lab and engineering lab, which will give campers hands-on opportunities to see their creativity come to life!
