Ben Garson has visited the 7th grade during the Dog Unit ever since we began this unit a few years ago. A former Summer Adventure camper, he will discuss the optimal way to train one's dog. By the way, failures of effective dog training usually rests with the person and not with the dog. Insights of canine pack behavior will be explained as a way to effectively communicate with the dog in order corrrect unwanted behavior.

As part of the Grade 7 Dog Unit, a long-time trainer from the Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation (Bryant) will bring a Fidelco dog and tell the grade about Fidelco. Fidelco's mission is to breed and raise a select group of German Shepherds to be placed, free of charge, with people who are visually-impaired or blind. Grade 7 will plan and host a fundraiser for Fidelco in February.
