Keith Garbart
Director of Summer Adventure and Auxiliary Programs
“I am so proud to be a part of an inclusive and supportive community that is fostered at Renbrook School. Seeing the smiling faces between students and staff truly inspires me in so many ways. The energy on campus is awe inspiring and I am so happy to be a part of the Renbrook community and “Bringing Learning to Life” each and every day!”
Born in Florida and raised in South Carolina, Keith found his way to the University of South Carolina and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education. While in school, he spent his summers working at YMCA Camp Sloane in Lakeville, CT, and this is where Keith decided he wanted to work at camp for the rest of his career. “The life lessons that are learned at summer camp are priceless and the environment provides unique opportunities to connect with children in the outdoors and teach leadership and life skills.” Keith worked at East Hartford Youth Services, at Glastonbury Parks and Recreation as Director of Summer Adventure, and spent 14 years as the Recreation and Camp Director at Winding Trails in Farmington. Keith is a Board Member with American Camp Association New England and the Legislative Liaison for the Connecticut Camping Association.
Keith met his wife while working at Camp Sloane and they currently live in South Windsor, CT, with their two children and two cats. They love to vacation in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Keith is an avid golfer, loves spending time with family, and especially loves coaching a variety of sports including currently coaching Farmington High School Girls’ Basketball.
