Physical Education Teacher and Coach

Renbrook School (West Hartford, CT), an independent day school for children in Preschool to Grade 8, currently seeks a full-time Physical Education teacher and Coach.

We seek a creative and energetic Physical Education instructor to implement our Physical Education (PE) curriculum for students in Preschool to Grade 8. A bachelor’s degree in P.E. or a related major is required.

The successful candidate must demonstrate knowledge of skill themes, movement concepts, and developmentally appropriate progressions which are imperative to physical education. The candidate will be responsible for the safe conduct and execution of the program and the athletics facilities. The candidate must collaborate with the Director of Athletics and other department members on the organization and implementation of the physical education program. Experience implementing a Project Adventure (high and low ropes) Curriculum and coaching gymnastics are preferred but not required.

This position includes coaching all three athletic seasons (boys’ soccer, basketball, and lacrosse or baseball) in the middle school (grades 5-8). Games may end after 4:00 p.m. and require coverage until parents pick up students.
