Jennifer Fleet
Preschool Lead Teacher
San Francisco State University - B.A.
Jen joins us from San Francisco where she worked at One Fifty Parker Avenue Preschool co-leading their Little Red School Bus program which used the area’s many natural, historic, and cultural landmarks as their classroom each day. Jen and her family relocated to Connecticut in 2021. In the spring of 2023, she joined us as a Maternity Leave Replacement, and is excited to return as a full-time teacher in the fall of 2023.
Jen graduated with her BA in Anthropology from San Francisco State University. It was in the Anthropology program where she first learned of the transformative role early education can make on the outcome of children’s lives. Jen’s education philosophy is based on her experience in a Play Based nursery school and experiential outdoor program. Jen believes children thrive when provided a thoughtful environment and the ability to self guide their own play experiences. It is through this open-ended, play based philosophy that Jen hopes to foster children’s innate curiosity and creative expression that will serve the child for a lifetime. Jen completed her core education classes at City College of San Francisco and received her certificate to teach early childhood from the State of California.
In her spare time Jen loves traveling and exploring with her husband, son, and their rascally pup. Jen’s hobbies are ceramics and cycling, which has led to an abundance of oddly shaped bowls and more spandex than any one person should own.
