Billy Hartenberger

Billy Hartenberger became part of the Renbrook community in 2025 as a Technology Integration Specialist in the IT department. He brings a strong academic background to his role, holding a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialization in Educational Technology, along with a Bachelor of Arts in General Studies that integrates Education, Psychology, and Music.

Billy’s professional path began in customer service before he transitioned fully into education and technology. He worked at a school serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, where he taught Social Emotional Learning and Technology classes. In that role, he helped students develop practical life and technology skills while also supporting faculty as a Learning Management System administrator. His work combined instructional design, hands-on teaching, and technical leadership to ensure technology-enhanced learning rather than being distracted from it.

At Renbrook, Billy supports Lower School technology integration and provides campus-wide IT support. He believes that children are naturally curious learners and that educators should empower that curiosity with tools that encourage critical thinking and creativity. His philosophy centers on pursuing excellence in all that he does and helping students develop the skills they need to navigate a rapidly evolving digital world with confidence and discernment.

Music has always been an important part of Billy’s life. He plays drums, piano, and guitar, with drumming remaining his favorite creative outlet. He and his wife are raising three daughters and are excited to welcome another baby girl into their family.
