At Renbrook School we have a simple mission: to help all of our students fulfill their unique potential.
We provide a rigorous, enriched program of academic excellence in which students from diverse backgrounds can develop skills in a supportive and nurturing environment.
Our students strengthen their sense of self through many kinds of achievement; in addition to what they learn in the classroom, they also learn to take appropriate risks—and to respect and balance the rights of the individual and the needs of the group.
We value strong relationships between the school and its families, a sense of community within the school, and a tradition of service to others.
Vision of a Renbrook Graduate
As the result of a series of faculty and staff meetings in the fall of 2016 designed to identify attributes that we at Renbrook School aspired for our graduates to possess, this list was created. The second part of the exercise then was to begin to brainstorm unique and effective ways that the adult leaders here at the school could shape the culture within the school to intentionally develop these attributes in students at all grade levels. Each teacher heard the ideas of their colleagues and committed to actualizing the best of those ideas in ways that would be appropriate at each grade level in each discipline.
Today these ten attributes form a standard to which all Renbrook students are held. Not every student, every day lives a life at the highest level of all of these attributes, but everyone is learning to strive for that level of behavior and that journey to improvement is what is most important.
Our Plan sets out six Strategic Priorities, each guiding Renbrook toward a specific vision of what Renbrook will look like in the future:
I. Individual Student Achievement. Provide students at every grade level with the finest education possible in order to ensure that they fulfill their unique potential, and are positioned for success in future learning and in life.
II. Outstanding Faculty and Staff. Retain and actively recruit outstanding faculty and staff.
III. Optimal School Structure. Examine and affirm the optimal size and structure of the School.
IV. Distinctive Benefits to Families. Communicate consistently and clearly to all audiences the distinctive qualities and values that make the Renbrook experience unique and beneficial to each student.
V. Exceptional Campus Environment. Evaluate current and future physical plant and technology needs to ensure support of school programs and mission.
VI. Financial Strength and Flexibility. Ensure that the financial resources will be available to support and sustain the School’s program of excellence.
Associated with each Strategic Priority are Key Initiatives outlining how each one will be accomplished.
