11 gifts of $500 ($5,500) fund Everyday Mathematics for Grades 1-5, a math curriculum distinguished by its focus on real-life problem solving and on building a strong understanding of mathematical concepts through exploration of alternate ways of solving problems. Materials include journals, hands-on equipment, educational games and activities, student reference books, and teacher manuals. Created by the University of Chicago Mathematics Project, Everyday Mathematics has been more successful in developing basic math skills and conceptual thinking than any other published elementary school mathematics program.
53 gifts of $1,000 ($53,000) pay the average faculty salary for one highly skilled, dedicated, caring, and inspiring teacher for one year. Renbrook teachers are the heart of the school.
