Secondary School Placement

Application Timetable
SEPTEMBER AND OCTOBER
  • Line up your list of schools to visit and schedule your appointments.
  • Begin your visits and interviews. Be sure to follow procedures if you need to miss classes. Your sense of responsibility will influence your profile in a positive way.
  • Keep in touch with Mrs. Clark by e-mail, telephone and in person.
  • Do NOT decide on your top choice yet. Keep all options open.
  • Attend the Secondary School Fair on October 3, 6:00-8:00 p.m. in Heather Commons.
NOVEMBER
Ask your teachers if they will write recommendations for you.
  • Complete several of your visits and interviews.
  • Update your Personal Data Form with Mrs. Clark.
BY THANKSGIVING
  • Have completed most or all of your visits and interviews.
  • Decide which schools you will apply to.
  • Sort through all your application packets, fill out basic information.
  • Check in recommendations with Mrs. Clark who will initial them.
  • Turn in school forms to Mrs. Clark
  • Give the recommendation forms to your teachers in stamped, addressed envelopes.
BY WINTER BREAK
  • All recommendations, forms and your Parent Release Form must be checked in with Mrs. Clark.
  • Be sure your teachers have received your recommendation forms (at the latest).
  • Begin or continue writing your applications.
  • Get copies of the School Scholarship Service (SSS) form if you are applying for financial aid.
  • Keep in touch with Mrs. Clark by phone, e-mail and/or in person.
BY END OF WINTER BREAK
  • Have your applications completed.
  • Mail your completed applications to each school before its deadline.
MARCH
  • Try to decide which school you will attend as soon as the decisions arrive.
  • Make second visits to schools only if you need to, making sure to follow Renbrook's procedures for missing classes.
  • Keep Mrs. Clark informed of your acceptances and decisions.
  • Inform schools of your decision NOT to attend, opening up waiting-list opportunities for others.
APRIL
  • Inform schools of your decision as soon as possible.
