"All of our kids are placed in situations where they get to be leaders.

"We find the place for each one of them and make sure they get that opportunity to practice leadership."

Welcome to Renbrook School’s website. As you explore these pages you will find many examples of the difference Renbrook makes in the lives of our students --- and the joy in learning which infuses our classrooms.
One of our alums told me that Renbrook had been the ‘fulcrum’ on which his life turned. That is a strong statement and one I have heard in one form or another from many alumnae/i and parents.  I have also heard many times that Renbrook was and is a "home away from home" for our students.
Such powerful expressions of the value of a Renbrook education ultimately trace back to our greatest resource – our teachers.  They are dedicated to their students; their craft and passion for teaching and learning is contagious. In our small classes teachers get to know each child well and are able to tailor their instruction to the individual.
Academic challenge is at the core of our program which provides a broad liberal arts experience for all students. Student learning continues well beyond the classroom subjects as we help children become responsible, empathetic, thoughtful and engaged citizens.
We teach and model these characteristics every day throughout the school. We help students understand how to be effective members of a community and in the process they form lifelong relationships with each other and with their teachers.
Students and teachers enjoy and explore their natural surroundings on our 70-acre campus and on trips further afield. Renbrook adults and children are active in the greater Hartford community, whether through community service, participating in the annual Mathcounts competition, or walking with Archbishop Desmond Tutu for the Connecticut Peace Walk as many did last spring.
Renbrook is a place where young people can take appropriate risks in a safe setting; a place where they are known and loved; a place where seeds are planted and nurtured, seeds that will blossom for many years to come.
Come visit us and learn more. We look forward to getting to know you!
